The archbishop of Santiago between 1451 and 1460, he was directly involved in the Great Irmandiño War, when the second destruction of the castle of of Rocha Forte occurred.
This archbishop has a black legend that associates him to an episode of droit de seigneur, a murky event that would be reflected in late medieval literature.
His construction activity focussed on the village of Padrón and the castle of Rocha Branca, near Iria. However, he was also credited with the commissioning of one of the towers at the archbishop’s palaces in Santiago.
Upon his death, he was buried at the Collegiate Church of Iria Flavia.
