The contents of this website are under a Creative Commons (BY) license. This means that they may be freely copied and reproduced provided the source is acknowledged. Some graphic material, however, is under more restrictive licenses, which are specifically mentioned in each particular case.

Contents

The historical texts for both the web and the book were written by archaeologists Xurxo Ayán, José Suárez Otero and Carlos Marín Suárez.

The illustrations of historical personages were by David Sánchez.

Web

This website was developed by A navalla suíza in the final quarter of 2013. It was presented on January 3rd 2014.

Tecnoloxía

In the creation of the website only free software has been used.

• The server runs under Debian 6.0.7 Squeeze.
• Pages are served by Apache 2.2.16.
• The website is built with PHP5 framework (5.3.3) phpCan, with CSS cSans framework and styleCow and ImageCow preprocessors. Every tool has been developed by A navalla suíza.
• In the development of the website, HTML5 technology was used also for the virtual visit (developed by David Pardo), which includes a Flash version for older browsers.

Design

The logo is a creation by Cenlitrosmetrocadrado, made from Glypha typeface, designed by Adrian Frutiger. The colour used in the logo and in the interactive areas of the website is red #aa0132.

For the texts Roboto Slab e Gudea typefaces have been used, provided by Google Web Fonts.

Project participants

The following are the teams that participated in the «Archeological project for the study, recovery and appreciation of the fortress of Rocha Forte», which was funded by a nominal subvention of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Spain,and instigated and coordinated by Santiago de Compostela City Council.

Conditioning work prior to the intervention

• Project consisting in setting back the medium voltage line at Ponte da Rocha: Unión Fenosa Distribución.
• Supply of the work fences to delimit the perimeter prior to the conducting of the archeological intervention: Antonio Framiñán Construcciones (AFC).

Study, excavation and restoration

• Study of the historical documentation: dehistoria. Cultura. Historia. Patrimonio.
• Archeological excavation, restoration and study of the site of Rocha Forte: Eiriña Empresa Constructora, in association with A Citania Arqueoloxía e BIC Materiales y Conservación. Archaeological director: María José Bóveda Fernández.
• Health and Safety Report and Coordinator of health and safety at the Archeological excavation: Cíes Atlántico.
• Study of the historical documentation and excavation of the A Rocha Forte site: complementary annex for the intensive archaeological survey of the area of A Rocha: Alejandro Parga Castro.

Conditioning and appreciation of the site

• Basic project and execution of the closing of the site and placement of information panels: RVR Arquitectos,in collaboration with archeologist Xurxo Constela (A Citania Arqueoloxía).
• Manufacturing and installation of the perimeter fencing and information panels: Metal Noia.
• Basic project for the conditioning of the site at A Rocha Forte: RVR Arquitectos.

Topography and aerial photography

• Surveying of the archaeological site: Eiriña Empresa Constructora.
• Photogrammetry and aerial photography and video: Enmacosa.
